Nic Von Rupp nasceu em 1990, cresceu em Sintra e é filho de pai alemão e mãe portuguesa. Desde os 9 anos que se dedica ao surf, e na sua carreira como júnior conseguiu conquistar títulos nacionais e internacionais. Mais tarde, descobriu a sua paixão: mover fronteiras no Surf de Ondas Grandes.
Com uma excelente reputação mundial, Nic foi considerado “Surfista Europeu do Ano”, em 2013; terminou a sua primeira participação no “WQS” em 60º lugar, depois de vencer o “Pawa Tube Fest” no México, em 2014; foi bi-campeão do “Capítulo Perfeito”; foi distinguido com uma medalha de prata no “ISA World Surfing Games” e alcançou uma vitória no “Moche Rip Curl Pro Trials”, que lhe permitiu competir no “World Championship Tour”.
Recentemente, von Rupp começou a focar-se cada vez mais naquilo pelo que é conhecido, pelo que é respeitado e pela razão de aqui estar: perseguir as ondas maiores e mais pesadas do mundo, registadas em documentários, desde a Nazaré à Irlanda e mais além.
Nic Von Rupp was born in 1990, grew up in Sintra and is the son of a German father and a Portuguese mother. Since the age of 9 he has been surfing, and in his career as a junior he won national and international titles. Later, Nic discovered his passion: moving frontiers in Big Wave Surfing.
With an excellent reputation worldwide, Nic was considered “European Surfer of the Year” in 2013; he finished his first participation in “WQS” in 60th place, after winning the “Pawa Tube Fest” in Mexico in 2014; he was honored with a silver medal at ISA World Surfing Games and his victory in the Moche Rip Curl Pro Trials allowed him to compete in the World Championship Tour.
Recently von Rupp started focusing more and more for what he is known for, for what he is respected for and for what he is here for: chasing the worlds biggest and heaviest waves in documentaries from Nazaré to Ireland and beyond.
